The civil servants in the environment of Jakarta Provincial Government now have the opportunity to get promotion to become officials. For those who rank is at least III.c, they could propose through online system to become echelon officials in accordance to their respective wish.

City Secretary Saefullah stated the selection process system has been proposed to Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama and is waiting for his approval. If everything is approved, Jakarta Personnel Board (BKD) will open the registration online next week.

Engineers Wanted! Apply NowIt is predicted that there would be more than 5,000 civil servants to join in this new promotion system. If they passed, they will get echelon IV positions. The induction will be conducted on upcoming December 24.
But before that, they will be first tested by assessment teams to compete for structural positions in the environment of Jakarta Provincial Government. It is planned there would be 60 assessment teams consist of renowned psychologists from various universities.
This reshuffle is in accordance with the Regional Apparatuses Organization Bylaw. According to Saefullah, as many as 120 bylaws were just made as derivatives from the bylaw ratified by Jakarta Parliament (DPRD).
The Regional Apparatuses Organization Bylaw also mentioned about organization structural changes, such as Public Works Department which will be split in two to become Water Management Public Works Department and Highways Department. Moreover, Spatial Department and Building Control Department will be merged. In addition, Satpol PP will have one additional position which is Satpol PP Deputy Head, and the position of Tourism Department Deputy Head will be erased.
“We see the needs. Could be a department head get the same position or being mutated. That depends on the tests result,” explained Saefullah.
